1. Introduction
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the services provided by GKW Electrical Services Ltd (Company No. 16096969), a private limited company incorporated in England and Wales with its registered office at 282 Hounslow Road, Hanworth, Feltham, TW13 5JW, England ("we," "our," or "us").
2. Services
We provide electrical installation services as defined by SIC Code 43210. Our services include but are not limited to:
- Electrical installations and repairs
- Wiring and rewiring services
- Electrical inspections and testing
- Emergency electrical services
- Commercial and residential electrical work
3. Quotations and Pricing
- All quotations are valid for 30 days unless otherwise specified
- Prices may vary based on site conditions and material costs
- Additional work beyond the original scope requires written approval
- Payment terms are net 30 days from invoice date unless otherwise agreed
- We reserve the right to charge interest on overdue accounts at 8% per annum above Bank of England base rate
4. Health and Safety
We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of health and safety:
- All work is carried out in accordance with current UK regulations and British Standards
- Our electricians are qualified and regularly trained
- We maintain comprehensive public liability insurance
- Safety assessments are conducted before commencing work
- Clients must provide safe access to work areas
5. Warranties and Guarantees
- We provide a 12-month guarantee on workmanship from completion date
- Material warranties are as per manufacturer specifications
- Warranty excludes damage caused by misuse, normal wear and tear, or third-party interference
- Warranty claims must be reported in writing within the warranty period
6. Client Obligations
Clients are responsible for:
- Providing accurate information about the work required
- Ensuring safe access to work areas
- Obtaining necessary permits or approvals where required
- Payment according to agreed terms
- Protecting personal property during work execution
7. Liability and Insurance
- We maintain public liability insurance of £2,000,000
- Professional indemnity insurance of £1,000,000
- Our liability is limited to the contract value except for death or personal injury caused by negligence
- We are not liable for consequential or indirect losses
- Claims must be notified within 12 months of completion
8. Cancellation and Termination
- Clients may cancel services with 48 hours notice before scheduled work
- Cancellation fees may apply for short notice cancellations
- We reserve the right to terminate services for non-payment or breach of terms
- Work completed before termination remains chargeable
9. Compliance
We operate in compliance with:
- Electricity at Work Regulations 1989
- BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations)
- Building Regulations Part P
- Health and Safety at Work Act 1974
- Consumer Rights Act 2015
- UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018
10. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from these terms or our services will be:
- Initially addressed through direct communication
- Referred to mediation if direct resolution fails
- Subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of English courts
- Governed by English law
11. Force Majeure
We are not liable for delays or failures in performance due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, government restrictions, or supply chain disruptions.
12. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these terms with reasonable notice. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
